Write About it Wednesday - Witch Journal Prompts - Week 4

 Merry Meet!

The natural world is an integral part of my path, but our paths are all so varied! This week we spend time thinking about the natural world and what kind of role it plays in our craft as well as what areas are most prevalent in our work.

Week Four Prompt: Do I want to follow a path that involves nature on a small scale or a large scale? What areas of nature specifically call to me?

If you're doing these prompts along with me, I'll be posting new material every Wednesday.

2026 - The Year of the Fire Horse

Merry Meet!

The year of the Fire Horse is here! This year runs from February 17, 2026 to February 5, 2027. What does the year of the Fire Horse mean? It's part of the Chinese zodiac which is based on years as opposed to months like the zodiac many of us are accustomed to. Each year is a combination of both the element (in this case fire) and the animal (horse) that makes for unique combinations. Some traits of the year of the Fire Horse are boldness, movement, awakening, and rapid changes. Fire horse years don't creep in on little cat paws, they come stomping in on the hooves of a stampede!

The energy of 2026 is fast, moving forward, and full of breakthroughs. This is a year where opportunities open suddenly, where your confidence rises and your path becomes clearer. The horse year pushes you to trust your instincts and take bold steps. No more holding back. No more overthinking. No more shrinking yourself. The seeds you planted during the chaos and cleansing of 2025 will begin to show real growth.

Blessed Be,

Spell for Letting Go

Merry Meet!

The new year is a good time to let go of anything that no longer works for our benefit or stands in the way of you moving forward. Of course, the idea of the new year varies for many of us, but for me, it's part of the movement between Yule and Imbolc.

This is a good spell to do during the dark moon, the time just before the smallest light of the new moon, but as with all of the practice, the timing doesn't matter as much as the intention and follow through behind the spell. The next dark moon is just around the corner.

Supplies

Parchment
Black candle
White candle
Fire safe vessel

Practice

Determine what you are letting go of and write it out on your parchment. Light the black candle and use it to burn the parchment you have written on. Recite the spell below as you use the flame from the black candle to burn the parchment, placing it in the fire safe vessel to allow it to completely burn. Light the white candle then snuff out the black one to signify that you have let go of the old to make room for the new.

Spell

I acknowledge that there are things that no longer work for me
I let them go
I willing make space for that which is new and healthy and productive
And let go of the old and unhealthy and unproductive
I acknowledge that there are things that no longer work for me
I let them go
I let them go
I let them go

Blessed Be,

Write About it Wednesday - Witch Journal Prompts - Week 2

Merry Meet!

This week we're looking at a topic that will vary greatly from witch to witch. One of the things I love most about following the path of witchcraft is that there are no right or wrong answers, especially when we talk about the gods and goddesses each witch works with.

Week Two Prompt: How do I see the divine?

If you're doing these prompts along with me, I'll be posting new material every Wednesday.

Write About it Wednesday - Witch Journal Prompts - Week 1

Merry Meet!

One of my intentions for the new year is to spend some more time with my journal. Now, if you're like me, the idea of a daily journal can seem overwhelming and as part of my executive dysfunction if I miss a specific daily goal I'm done for, my brain isn't able to just be satisfied with "we'll do two tomorrow". So, instead of a daily journal goal, I'm working with a weekly one. I'll post them here every Wednesday, but I'm not stressing myself out about doing them on any specific day.

Week One Prompt: What draws me to witchcraft?

Cinnamon Ritual Reminder

 Merry Meet!

It's the first day of the month and so it's time for your regular cinnamon ritual to bring prosperity into your home. If you've never done a cinnamon ritual it is a very simple process. I put a small amount of cinnamon (a spoonful) into my palm, step outside my front door, speak my intention out loud, and blow the cinnamon back in through the door.

You can use the intention above or you can write your own. Keep in mind that this is a prosperity ritual and prosperity can mean different things for different people and circumstances. If what you need in your life to be more prosperous right now is a new stove, it's just fine to speak that into existence. The universe will bring you things through the path of least resistance. Maybe that new stove is coming in a new-to-you version because a friend or neighbor is getting an upgrade. Asking for the stove instead of $1000 to purchase a new one allows for opportunity to come to you more easily.

I'll share a secret with you - the ritual will work just as well on any other day of the month, the magic isn't in the first day of the month, it's in you and your intent.

Blessed Be,
